I just called to say..

"Buen camino!"

Do's and don'ts on the camino

Seen on the wall of the municipal albergue in Estrella.

I did not see the rules being enforced, though.

Keep your bunk space clean and tidy.

Approaching Logrono

When the camino approaches Logrono,
pilgrims get the opportunity to meet the daughter and granddaughter of Felisa,
who became a self-made institution by providing pilgrims with fresh figs and water.

"Higo, agua y amor" is the stamp Felisa's descendents happily stamp
on your pilgrim's passport.

We were served coffee, toast and marmelade and homemade potato tortilla.

Donations are accepted but not solicited.

Forsythia

First we smelled the perfume, then we saw the forsythia.
Miles and miles of them.

Viana

The most charming of the charming villages on the camino so far.

The children dress up not because it was a local festival, but because it was the weekend.

Torres del Rio

Is this how ancient, wayfaring travelers felt when they saw a small village in the distance?
On the camino, it takes an hour or two
before one finally arrives at the villages one sees on the horizon.

Lunch!

Carbohydrates, proteins and vitamins.

Albergue room with a view

Personal transportation service

J Bo carried my back pack over his shoulders like it was a lamb.
He got a better workout and my light feet flew, barely touching the camino.
A perfect win-win situation.
